Amish country

My mom and my Grandma flew out for Rachel's baptism.  It ended up being a family trip for them when my mom's two sisters decided to join.  They wanted to go out to Lancaster to visit the Omish country and we took a day off of school to join them for a day (and a night at the hotel pool of course)

We went to a pretzel factory
They taught us how the hard pretzel was created and about the whole process
Then we got to twist our own
 Good job Kate

 The ovens
We visited a village where they sold lots of home goods with samples galore of salsas, pickles, jams, etc.  Some good stuff!

Lily did amazing and slept most the day away
One of the towns there in Pennsylvania in called Bird-in-Hand.  Jake says this saying all the time, "One bird in the hand is better than two in the bush."
 Oh my darling :)

Fun to have so many guests. I swear you get the most! LOVE the last photo of Lily. So I'm interested in the story of the pretzel....heard one in Primary the other day when I was subbing (something about a monk teaching the kids to fold their arms while they pray and made the pretzels to remind them....was that it?)

You guys are always taking the best field trips! It seems like there is a never ending supply of things to do and see out east.
