Splish splash

Rachel has always loved baths but she's maybe starting to like them too much...
She'll ask for one several times a day and she'll even get in with no water
So, I thought I'd buy a pool, the weather's too hot and humid to be outside for even a few minutes anyway
She seemed a little hestitant at first, but she loves it!!She didn't even mind getting out
Although, you'll never guess what she asked for when we got back inside the house...yep, a bath!

A Romantic Weekend...but not for us...

We babysat all weekend (Andrew for a couple days and then a family of 3 on Saturday). Rachel and Andrew have had a rough go of it, but they're starting to really hit it off ;) Yesterday at church when Rachel saw him she said, "Anju!!!" and she even took him by the hand and they go walking off together...so sweet.

by the way, "bobbys" are flowers...who know how she came up with that interpretation

A wonderful blessing!!

For those of you who don't know yet, Jake has just accepted an offer for a different job. Still at Wachovia, so we'll still be here in Charlotte for a while, but a much better fit!!! He'll be working with the International Credit group. I'm not exactly sure what that means or what he'll be doing but I really think he'll be a lot happier here. They keep pretty busy and they have standard, reasonable hours. So no more being bored one day and then working till midnight and weekends the next. It's been a crazy road, but the Lord truly knows what's best for us. We're not sure when he starts but it'll be in the next couple of weeks. I'm really proud of Jake too...there were quite a few applicants for the job!

A Great Weekend

Jake and I finally got down to the Columbia Temple in South Carolina. We decided to make a day trip out of it and we went to Historic Brattonsville, a Revolutionary War town and battlefield. Anyone heard of Huck's Defeat, well it was there and supposedly it "led" to a "pivotal" turning point of the war. It was pretty cool. Or, if you've seen the Patriot, a lot of that movie was filmed there and you may recognize some of the buildings in the photos.

So there we are 30-40 miles from home, 20 miles off any major highway in the middle of the country and we feel like we're the only ones there at this place. We look at a house or two and then I need to use the restroom. We go back to the visitors center and lo and behold we find some of our really good friends of ours from our ward here in Charlotte...out of all the random saturdays, and the times we could have been there...a little too ironic, don't you think?

Jake's a professionl shucker
And I'm a professional teacher ;)...actually, I start teaching dance tomorrw...yikes!!
A cool old house and a super cool guy

Let's hear it for friends!

I have some awesome friends here in Charlotte. They threw me a surprise party for my birthday. I went to go move a "heavy table" and as we're walking around back I hear kids voices and in my head I'm thinking, "I was just told school doesn't get out till Friday..." I should have known, who would want my muscles to move a heavy table. They're great!!

Rachel, Andrew, and Rachel...they're such good friends too :)

No TV??

Well, we've carryed out our first real punishment...Rachel was getting a little too addicted to the wiggles. She would ask for them at least 50 times a day. That meant saying no 45 times and trying to distract her attention. Just too many tantrums for the wiggles. So it's gone and she's a lot happier now...how ironic.

It's true I don't get to watch the Today show anymore, or an occaisonal TV show...but who needs it when you've got the Rache for entertainment!!

and don't worry, we still bring it out on weekends for her to get her fill of the wiggles and maybe for a Friday night movie

A Ponytail!

Rachel's hair is getting longer and it fits in a ponytail now...but only for about an hour, she's just too crazy. But I sure have a lot of fun doing it, and Rach loves it because it's "pitty."
