Disneyland: Day Two

Day Two was great.  We were smarter about the heat and did some inside shows during the hot part of the day.  Aladdin was a real delight, my kids didn't budge for the entire show.

Toy Story Mania ride!  That and the other Buzz Lightyear ride where you get to shoot a gun, were easily Tommy's favorite rides

which inspired the "prize" he got to pick out.  One happy boy!
 The hot dog dance
 Savoring the popcorn

"Quack quack" as Katelyn calls her
Dole whip...mmmmmmmmm.  I sweat bullets waiting in line for these...totally worth it!
Small world.  I love this ride.
And my all time favorite shot of the trip...
in case you need a closer look...
Seriously makes me laugh every time.  I'm kind of wishing I would have paid the crazy amount of money to get the quality photo.

I love Disneyland!

Disneyland: Day One

A couple weeks ago when we told my kids we were going to Disneyland they were extremely excited.  I showed Tommy online video clips of the park to show him what he had to look forward to.  He said, "Wow, Disneyland is so much better than Chuck E Cheese!"  Yes, it sure is!  The kids got these cute pajamas from Grandma to wear while we were there.  Katelyn was twirling and saying "cute!"  She loved them so much that she would not let us take them off her the next morning.
I didn't feel like starting the day off with that battle, so...she went to Disneyland in her pjs
We headed to the new Cars Land first.  What a fun place!  Feels like you're walking inside the animated movie.  It was amazing how well they replicated Radiator Springs.
Tommy and Jack anxious for their first ride
Meeting Mater.  Katelyn was intrigued with how he was talking
It was great to have my sister Brooke so willing to go on the spinning rides with my kids.  Blek!
Tower of Terror!  Rachel was very unsure but somehow wanted to do it again and it somehow became one of her favorite rides.  Tommy claims, "I was just a little tiny little bit scared on that ride."
Katelyn was fascinated with the characters, but kept her distance

Tommy come sit here I want to take your picture.  "But my pants are getting wet"  Love it.
When Tommy saw Lightning coming down the street he ran right up to it.  Lightning McQueen says, "whoa, don't get too close...I just got detailed."
Radiator Springs Racers.  We arrived first thing in the morning and there was even a long line for the fast pass.  We have some great uncles who took one for the team to get us all on.  It was a blast!

Minnie Mouse has become a fast obsession for Katelyn
Katelyn didn't grasp the concept of waiting in line very well
 Hooray for Peter Pan!
I think Ethan bribed Tommy to sit next to him ;)
 Thunder mountain
 Splash mountain...another favorite
We stayed late to see the fireworks show, we pushed them hard all day, they were good troopers, especially with how hot it was too.  It was funny to watch them all crash and to see how long Katelyn fought it.

Trip Out West: Part One

I found a decent price on tickets direct to Utah that were hard to pass up.  After we bought the tickets we tagged on a trip to California, with my whole family, in between.  We had one day to make the most of Utah and I think we did a pretty darn good job.  One requirement for me was to go waterskiing.  Heaven was smiling upon us with perfect weather!

These kids' favorite part was just jumping into the lake and swimming
 Their smiles tell it all

Kate had a rough start when she got sunscreen in her eyes, but she ended up loving it all.  She followed suit of her brother and sister...jumping in the lake, and getting on the tube with no questions asked.
 Warming her toes

 Seriously.  Look at that water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get a picture of my dad skiing (because I was driving) but seriously, I hope I can ski as good and hard as him when I'm 50
My Dad and I each skied twice and would have done more if our arms and legs would have allowed!

Afterwards we went to hang out with my Grandma in Orem and had some delicious Brick Oven pizza

That evening Grandpa took the kids to the park to shoot some rockets and fly some planes, his 849th hobby :) and the kids had a great time too
I could have just laid back and stared at those mountains all day long...how I miss them!!
Rachie had the right idea
Another big reason we wanted to come was to meet this sweet little thing.  My niece Avery.  She is SUCH A CUTIE!!  And she is hands down the best baby I have ever seen.
 Disneyland, here we come!!!
