Our weekend

I had a request for another video. This is for Bryn.

We did the baseball thing again. It was the last "Family Fun Night" of the season. Rachel was really into it this time. She watched real intently and this is a sample of some of the things we heard her yelling at the top of her lungs, "dang it, he dropped the ball!" And, "wahooooooooo!"

And this was on the way out. I have never seen these moves before. Only minutes before, she was falling asleep on Jake's lap.

On Saturday I had Jake go to the grocery store for me while I did some cleaning. I told him, "just the basics...milk, bread, cereal, fruits, veggies...whatever's on sale. No juice!" I said no juice because he's been addicted to it latetly, all thanks to me, but I'm trying to cut back.

Well, he came back and said I sent him into a trap. It was the ONLY thing on sale. It made me laugh. I thought it was cute...but I did end up taking about 75% of it back this morning.

A few pictures

I'm just having fun, testing out our new laptop and it's incredible speed. It's amazing how far technology goes in just a few years.

Visitors

Grammie, Pop , and Steve came to visit us on their way out to BYU Hawaii.
Tom meets TomThey got Rachel this great pool, which she LOVES. Yesterday she begged me to go swimming...she didn't care that it was raining. And this morning she wanted to go out after breakfast...which is 7:30 am for us!

Tommy's first swim

Belgian Chocolate
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWe also had a great time at the Farmer's Market, eating fast food, celebrating Tom's birthday on 08/08/08, taking a tour of the Panther's Stadium and Lowe's Motor Speedway and having "cookouts" (as they like to call BBQs here in the south) enjoying good summer meals and good company (along with the mosquitoes and fireflies). Thanks again for the great time...we sure miss you!

Melanie Scissorhands

Jake finally let me cut his hair. Do I have experience cutting guys hair?...no. So he had reason to be apprehensive. But I think for my first time I did a pretty dang good job. He's a picky one too. On top of that I did a lot of hedge/bush trimming. I really felt like Edward Scissorhands. Jake had this past week off of school, and he spent all day in the yard...poor guy. We all spent the day out in the heat weeding, picking up sticks, you name it, it's all done. Even Rachel was a great helper, and Tommy...he took a nice long nap :)
We did however make it to Chuck E. Cheese. It's not the best picture (she didn't want to take time to smile at the camera) but I wanted to point out her "jewelry." I told her we were going to a "fun place" and she immediately got ready. She likes to put it on from time to time but it never stays on, except for good ol' Chuck. She must have felt that going to a "fun place" was pretty special. My favorite part of the evening was when she looked up at me and says, "I want to run like a race" I said, "okay" and she proceeds to put her arms up in jogging position and then takes a lap around the entire place.and once again...slept through it all.

I love it!
