Brooke and Ethan's turn

It was a perfect wedding, lovely ceremony, and beautiful backyard. The reason there's pictures of the flowers is cause I did them. What do you think? Could I do another business?...Flowers done Herway :) We had a great time, too quick of a trip though. And Rachel's still asking for everybody.

HOT

We are currently experiencing some really oppressive heat hear in the southeast! It's all you hear anyone talking about right now. You walk outside for a second and literally melt...even at 7:00 in the morning. So we've been stuck inside. Rachel didn't take it too well yesterday, we both went crazy. But today we handled things a little better. We brought back the TV...

But that only lasts so long

Then I decided to make some play dough...Rachel loved it. I made it "balue" cause that's her favorite color. Well, at least it's the only one she recognizes right now and I just love hearing her say it.

Jake was really impressed when he came home today and learned that I made homemade play dough, homemade salsa with my home grown tomatoes, and homemade bubbles with dish detergent. I got creative because I just didn't want to leave the house. Tomorrow is supposedly going to be worse...103 degrees and 50% humidity. Anybody got anymore ideas???

Summer Dance Workshop comes to an end

Which means summer is basically over...isn't that crazy!!! Anyway, the workshop went really well, I had a lot of fun doing it and I got some great compliments along the way. One boy's mom said he liked it more than his karate class. Another mom says her two kids love to play "dance class" at home. Another boy asks everyday if it's the day he goes to dance class. I decided to keep it going through the year, but unfortunately I don't have too many returning students. It's hard to compete with the busy schedules of school, swimming, gymnastics, soccer and everything else. So hopefully I can find a few more students by the time I start again. It's mainly my 5-6 year olds who are staying, and if it were just them I would be happy, because they are my favorite!!! What a cute age! We were few in numbers today because of last minute vacations before school starts again, but we had a lot of fun. Although, my last class seemed like eternity! They're 3 and 4 years old. One of the younger ones came and had to use the bathroom when she first got here. Then her brother had to go...well, then the whole class had to go. So it seemed like the whole 45 minutes was spent getting them all though the bathroom. The next one would go and each of them seemed to have a problem..."teacher...I can't get the water to go cold...teacher!!...teacher!!!...he didn't flush...teacher!...there's no toilet paper." And when I had to attend each one, that left the other 7 to go bouncing off the walls. Oh man, I'm ready for my summer vacation! They're cute though.

White water rafting

The funnest thing ever!!! Honestly, such a blast. It was my first time going and I'll be honest, I had butterflies in my stomach as they went through all the possiblities of dying and me thinking, "am I going to remember this when I am tossed out and being thrown around in the waves?" So I had one goal...to stay on the raft!! And, I did it! Although my toes were a bit numb afterwards from being shoved under the seat in front of me for the security. Sometimes I just couldn't look, when our guide would say "forward five!!" as we were headed for a class IV rapid, I would just concentrate on paddling...and staying on the raft. But, I was definitely getting the knack of it by the end. So much fun, I couldn't believe it. Sadly, I wasn't able to take the camera with me to get any action shots (which I'm sure would have been fantastic) but we are wet and that'll have to do for proof.
