Laundry day

Yesterday I was folding some laundry while Rachel was playing with some toys. When I finished she came and looked at the basket and said, "all done", then "bankie?" as she runs off to her room to get her blankie. She comes back and climbs into the basket saying "nigh night." Crazy girl! I just wish she was serious and really would have taken a nap.

Elmo!

Last weekend we went to the mall to get a delicious cinnamon pretzel treat and we ended up wandering into JC Penny's where Rachel found this cuddly, furry red thing hanging on the wall. She took it off and just looked too adorable with it...and Jake gave in. We got some fun comments from passers-by with Rachel lovingly and proudly carrying her elmo out. She's really getting good at working her magic.

Do as I'm doing

Or should I say, "undo what I'm doing"...it actually happens to be one of her favorite songs. One of these days I need to get all her songs and dances on film, she loves to do the actions and try and sing all the words, a few real words pop out here and there and the tune isn't too far off. I just can't believe how big she's getting.

Our trip out west

Thanks everyone, we had a blast!!! Rachel loved her cousins, the dogs, jumping on the tramp, gama, gampa, kitty, lightning mcqueen, the bobbys, Amy, her aunts and uncles, disneyland and all the boats in the water, the sand at the beach, the cookies, candy...and all the attention she got! Spoiled in my opinion :) The wedding was so beautiful, and we were so grateful to be there for all of it!!

Here we come!!

We're off to Utah tomorrow morning for my brother Dan's wedding...we're so excited to see everyone!!!

4th of July

We had an awesome day. We spent the morning boating and waterskiing and then went to a BBQ. Oh, wait, they call it a "cookout" here in the south. They don't do hamburgers or meat with barbeque sauce...it's just shredded pork, and you can put it on a bun with some sauce if you want to...different, but tasty!! They also had a snow cone machine and the biggest fastest blow up slide I ever slid, I mean saw. Rachel loved it all, except for the fireworks. We came to this same house last year and I spent the entire time inside. This time Rachel liked the first couple "boom booms" but they got pretty loud and she buried into my shoulder. The next thing I know she's zonked, and she slept through the rest of them. Poor pooped lady, it was a long day...with no nap.

Last Saturday we went to a Luau that celebrated somebody's CW5 (some highest ranking in the military I think) But anyway, he gave a speech and I really liked what he said. He told us even though there's different opinions , "we see his [Pres. Bush's] vision." They see the good purpose of it and are proud to fight to bring us more peace. I'm really grateful for the hearts and sacrifices of our soldiers and their families.
