Tropical Dose of Humidity in New York

In New York, the heat and humidity combined to give the metropolitan region an almost tropical feel.
The temperature reached 97 degrees in Central Park on Saturday afternoon, tying the high for July 24 set in 1999, according to the weather service.
With the humidity factored in, the heat index was 102 degrees at its peak, the service said.
The torrid conditions on Saturday prompted the weather service to put a heat advisory into effect covering New York City through 6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Murray said those kinds of advisories were a result of consecutive days of high heat and humidity.
Mr. Murray said the average temperature in Central Park this month, through Friday, wa
s 81.7 degrees, just over 5 degrees above normal.
I wish I could say we went to a tropical beach but we went to Coney Island again with some friends. We met this couple in our ward here 5 years ago and they're still here. We've now got kids the same age.

Yesterday we went to Central Park for our church stake Pioneer Day activity. I felt like a pioneer walking up the hill of the park 9 months pregnant in this crazy heat. We came home and took a family nap that afternoon.
Despite the rain this evening, Jake wanted to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and he and the kids took a nice Sunday stroll on the Brooklyn bridge while I cooked dinner.
I sure hope this week is a little cooler.

So sorry about the heat, esp when pregnant but oh my gosh! You are making it look like such a fun place to live. Never a shortage of fun things to do!

Sounds AWFUL. Just awful. And pregnant on top of it all. Gee whiz! The only other thing I wouldn't want to do in that heat is wear a suit and tie....poor Elder Herway!

it's been horribly hot here as well! So exciting all those adventures and your same friends with the same ages...... your house is fabulous........ can't wait to see the pull down pop up crib above the oven or somewhere.... the kitchen is "it's" room right? :) you guys are great! hope things go well for you within the next few weeks! I'm sure they will!
