Brotherly (and Sisterly) Love

My most favorite thing about summer is watching the relationships between my kids.  Granted they do have their squabbles that can drive me crazy, but overall they get along really well and really enjoy being together.  I particularly enjoyed watching them this day on the beach.  Taking a turn playing with each sibling, all together, or by themselves.

Tommy loves the idea of his Daddy starting up NJ Bike Tours.  Jake took him on a special tour just for him to a local farm.  They rode down the canal together and stopped to pick these tomatoes.
I have a CSA membership to another farm where I typically just pick up the vegetable box nearby, but sometimes we go to the farm to pick extra things like berries and flowers.

 They are amazingly beautiful
Once again playing together...soldiers even.  Tommy couldn't be happier.

Jake and I took a little weekend getaway to experience Philly (beyond the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall).  We ate lots of good food and biked (of course) all over the city.  Although we did learn it is not the most bike friendly city.

We visited and toured the Eastern State Penitentiary.  It was fascinating to learn about.  They tried to reform the prisoners, instead of punish them.  They used solitary confinement for a good long while.

There were several attempts of escape and their was one story about a dozen men that took months digging an underground tunnel out of their cell only to be caught within minutes of their escape.

Reading Terminal Market...lots of good food
 Penn's Landing
Elfreth's Alley "Our nations oldest residential street"

While we were away our good friend watched our kids and took them to the farm to do some potato harvesting.

 Diaper man to the rescue

All holding hands headed to the baseball game...seriously

I love my family!

So, so fun! And cute! And it always looks like perfection in your neck of the woods! How fun to getaway to Philly. I have toured the Old Idaho State Penitentiary and it really was fascinating and kinda creepy all at the same time. You guys are the best and I love your family too!
