Hallstatt

A treasure of a town in the Austrian lake district.  The calm water and the mountains are just surreal.  I love these houses built right into the mountain!

Having some fun with toys on the street
Water straight from the water fall
When we got to this square I had a major deja vu.  Turns out I have been here before!  Hallstatt was a town me and my roommate traveled to after our study abroad in Italy.  I had completely forgotten about it...which surprises me because this place is amazing!!

Rachel wanted to use her own money (1 euro) to light one of these candle and say a little prayer.  She was so fascinated with these things.  Afterwards she told me she prayed for the sister missionaries that are serving in our area.  She is so cute.
Where's Lily?

We rented these little electric boats and had an absolute blast.  The kids loved driving them.  Jake loved the life lesson learned when dealing with the lady who rented these boats out.  Here she is living in heaven on Earth and she was the most ornery lady I've ever met!  Getting upset with us over everything, when there was nothing to get upset about (we were going too slow, Tommy was touching her pole, the boat was wet, etc.)  It is not the things you have, that bring you the most happiness...

The water was ice cold! :)
Tommy wanted to

Just look at that glassy water!!
Postcard perfect place!!
I love it!

This baby got (if I remember correctly) four teeth during our travels...didn't even phase her.

I like this picture because of Anna and Elsa sleeping in her shorts

We had to take advantage of our warmest, clearest day of the week.  The water at Wolfgang wasn't as cold.

Pretty much every day starts and ends with chocolate, and yes, even some in between
and it was this day that I said to Jake, "how is that we have been in Austria for three days already and I haven't had a single apple strudel?!"  We remedied that real quick with a stroll into town that evening...and I don't think we missed a day thereafter :)

I could live in Austria, no problem!

Lily was an instant fan

The pictures are stunning, so I can't imagine how breathtaking the scenery must have been in real life!!

I had the same thought... I could live here. It was magical! Love reliving it through you.
How funny that you had been to Hallstatt before. It's an amazing place, but I was grateful we stayed in st. wolfgang because the water was warmer.
