HE'S IN!!

We got an email from Fedex Friday afternoon saying a package was being delivered overnight from Duke...aauughh, talk about anxiety!...luckily we got a phone call from the admissions secretary a few hours later saying "congratulations!" So Jake did it. He's been accepted to the Cross-Continent Duke MBA program. He'll be starting in July and finishing up March of 2010. (So, we can already start our 2 year countdown!) His 3 residencies abroad include New Delhi India, Shanghai China, and oddly enough, Brussels Belgium :) We're really excited about the opportunity and I'm really proud of him. I'm just going to need to find some new hobbies or something to keep my sanity.
The other big news of the weekend is that Rachel is now in her new room in her big girl bed and has started the potty training process. It makes me a little sad to think about how fast she is growing up, but I sure love that lady, and I'm really proud of her too!

HURRAY!!!!! Congrats Jake! You most definitely deserve it. Duke shall be lucky to have Mr. Jacob Carl Herway. Very cool.
And congrats to Miss Rachel. The big girl bed is a big step. I hope potty training is just as easy to conquer.
P.S. Mel you can always come out here and let the Herway cousins entertain you and the kids.

Wow! Congratulations Jake! How exciting. And even more exciting is the news about Rachel in her big girl bed and potty training! You'll have to let me know how potty training goes. We started potty training Annika 3 weeks ago and it was rough at first, but she's got it down now. So, stick to it and hang in there when you want to pull your hair out because it's worth it. I think it's smart to do it before the baby comes. I kinda wish I would have done that with Annika, but it all worked out. Good luck!

Congratulations, Jake! I am so excited for you. Good luck. And good luck to Mel on the potty-training. I will admit that I hated it. I'm not looking forward to starting with Abigail.

Jake and Mel...WOW! Ok, I'm glad we can start the 2 year countdown already. It's exciting and scary all in the same breath. Two years seems long, but that's a mission, right? And Brussels in May is beautiful!!! Seth/Heidi want to come then as well. Let's make it a party!

Congratulations again on two amazing accomplishments!
I suggest while jake is on one of those trips you come here or I go there. Deal?

Congratulations! What cool places Jake will yet to visit! You should try to go on those trips too! Anita is right, we do want to go in May of next year. Is that when Jake will be there? That would be fun to be in Belgium with you guys again. Seth wants to try to do a rotation in a hospital while we're there, so he'll be super busy as I'm sure Jake will be too. So, we can just have a fun time with the girls and your new baby boy!

I love Rachel's bedding and I can't believe she's already in a big girl bed!
