Rain, rain go away

I feel like Eeyore. The rain has followed us from Charlotte, Disney World, the Caribbean, and now Brussels. When will we ever get summer?  Honestly, I'm getting really tired of it.

At least Rachel doesn't seem to mind.  When she saw it was raining the next thing we know she's coming down the stair wearing this
Jake isn't the crazy one here. It really is chilly.
I can't believe already a week has gone by. We had a crazy time getting over here. Believe it or not, RAINstorms in New Jersey delayed our Charlotte flight an hour. We booked it to our Brussels flight missing it by seconds. It's so aggravating to see your plane still hooked to the gate and also learning that it too was delayed...on the runway. We were rerouted to go to Frankfurt, with a 4 hour layover. Tommy didn't sleep, which means neither did I.  At least I got to enjoy a quiet dinner and the most delicious berry tart cake for my birthday.

a Tervuren tree
Tommy is so close to walking, but he is too attached to our fingers.  Supposedly he took some of his first steps, but I wasn't there, so I'm not counting it.
We've been able to catch up with Jake a few times while he's been at school
Tommy likes to have frites with his ketchup
And more RAIN...
at Villers Abbey, just 30 minutes away
I didn't bring a jacket for Tommy.  All the ones he has are up in the attic and probably too small anyway.  So poor Tommy has had to wear an oversized girl jacket.

A glimpse of sunshine now and then
Jake and I will be taking a small getaway to Lake Como, Italy for a few days next week.  I looked up the weather there...sunny!  90 degrees even.  So summer here I come (cross my fingers)

I love the picture of the backs of Grammy and Tommy. And good for Rachie not letting the weather keep her down. She is a true Belge.

It's been raining here too. For a week and a half! Utah doesn't get this much rain...it's quite strange! That's so neat that you all get to go to Belgium for a bit! Have fun with the family and say hello to Jake. By the way, Happy Birthday, a little late but I guess I couldn't sing to you anyway because you were on your way to Brussels. Just know, in spirit, I'm singing you the special b-day song!

The rain followed us back to Utah too. I promise everyday there has been rain. It is crazy. Jack and I went to the park the other morning. We were there five minutes and had to race to the car because of RAIN! I am glad you made it safely at least and that the kiddies are having fun!

I loved all these pictures!
I like that Rachel wants to wear her swimsuit just because it's wet out regardless of the weather. :)
Who is that holding Tommy over the water? I love how relaxed you guys are. I know a lot of parents that would freak out over that. hahaha.
I don't think I've been to Villers Abby (if I have, I dont' remember) and for sure not Lake Como.

It's always sunny in Lake Como, love that place, it is absolutely beautiful and some good places to eat too. Hopefully the rain will go away for everyone, I'm starting to get depressed. Have fun!

I'm so sorry about the rain, especially the layover it caused in NJ. I know how you were not looking forward to the flight anyway! We are cheering for the rain to go away too so that you can have a good trip the rest of your stay. I hope you enjoy Italy!

Seriously rain, get out of town. If it makes you feel any better it's been monsoon season in Utah. I hope you and Jake have a fabulous rain free, kid free, vacation.

Great pics of the kids.
